Change: Are You Ready for the

Next Big Quake?

Does your organisation know what’s really happening beneath the surface? Do your executives understand the dynamics at work? Does your company have adaptability and resilience built into its DNA? Are your staff focussing on performance indicators or longer-term strategic forces? Is their attention absorbed by tomorrow’s occupancy, today’s ARPU, last quarter’s visitor totals?

DestiCorp helps its clients restore their sense of purpose and control in an increasingly unpredictable, volatile world, by identifying the real change forces at work, by explaining the their dynamics and synergies, and by exploring alternative strategies based on our client’s unique situation.

We’ve made it our business to study and explain what’s going on “out there” so you can steer your business and or destination into a profitable, sustainable future.

Why is change so hard to predict and plan for?

We have applied a geological metaphor to help understand change and change dynamics. We think in terms of:

TECTONIC FORCES SHOCKS FALLOUT RESPONSES

So we talk in terms of the driving Tectonic Forces associated with the collision of two continents of thought. These forces include a new notions of time and space, new understanding of how matter works (science); new technologies for manipulating our world,; new ways of seeing, being and doing (social, cultural, political and economic factors); and environmental realities.

Shocks occur along the fault-line as pressure builds and is released. Economic, political and purchasing power shifts from one continent and one class to another. Corporate structures morph and change. Boundaries blur. Deeply held values and beliefs evolve – imperceptibly at first but with gathering momentum. Capital and intelligence are redefined and, all of a sudden a whole new economics emerges from the rubble.

The business implications, the Fallout are staggering and complex. The very purpose of business and the nature of brands are being challenged; corporate relations with customers are being turned upside down; employees relations are having to alter too as are relations with the broader community of investors and stakeholders. New organisational structures and leadership styles are required.

This is the turbulent world in which the travel and tourism executive must lead their enterprise.

What’s your response plan? Do you have one? Do you think you can manage your way out trouble?

Let DestiCorp help by being your Early Warning System, by creating an internal competence for early detection and building in a state of response readiness and adaptability into the heart of your organisation. We offer:

Executive briefings that provide a "big picture" of change.

Understanding requires a robust conceptual framework on which the detail can be attached. Our briefings can be one hour, one half day or one day in length depending on your tolerance and comfort level. They are tailored to your business or association and can be structured for small interactive groups (an executive team or board directors) or presentations to larger audiences (employees, association members, partners etc.) These briefings look at:

a. The Tectonic Forces – those sub surface but most powerful of forces really driving change

b. The Shocks - weak spots along the fault line where quakes and volcanic eruptions are most evident and frequent; and

c. The Fall Out - this is the "Rock 'N Roll" part! Our combined anticipations of how the business community in general and your firm in particular might respond when the edifices of conventional thought start rocking and toppling.
